On 26th November 2023, Ms. Mio Ahmed, Co-Founder & Head of Business Development of Hishab attended JICA’s (Japan International Co-operation Agency) SDGs seminar programme at Lakeshore Hotel, Gulshan, Dhaka.
At this seminar, Ms Mio Ahmed gave a presentation to the Japanese companies about the contribution to SDGs on behalf of Hishab.
Here are some key takeaways from the presentation.
- Sensing the issue
Despite digitization efforts of the Govt, 77% can NOT be covered. We have 2 main issues to improve; 1- Accessing information for All citizens and 2- Increase digital transactions for financial institutes.
Those issues are mainly caused by a lack of digital literacy. In Bangladesh, only 6% of the population can use App based services, and 17% can use services only when they have assistance. But the rest of the 77% of people have no clue about how to use digital services.
Current software around the world requires certain conditions – such as app download, internet connectivity, smartphone and most importantly IT literacy.
- Touching their life
To solve these issues, we invented the world’s first Generative AI “PIA” via phone call.
It does not require internet connectivity, smartphone or app download. Just dial and talk.
Our PIA connects to comprehensive industries such as citizen service, MSMEs, IOT, e-commerce and Banking services etc. It behaves like a human agent and we can make a conversation with our PIA as if we interact with a human.
- Revolutionizing the nation

SDG 10 “Reduced Inequalities”
SDG 13 “Responsible consumption and production”

In this event, 10 Bangladeshi companies & 5 Japanese companies also attended. The programme started with the welcome speech of Mr. Ichiguchi Tomohide (Chief Representative, JICA Bangladesh Office) & closed by Mr. Takashi Komori (Senior Representative, JICA Bangladesh Office).
